No Shoot For You : Another mucked out shooting day. What we went out to shoot wasn't exactly there, so improvisation was in order. Not what we wanted, but not too bad I guess.

The Museum That Wasn't : More to come... just have been too lazy to get them up this weekend among all the stuff I've been running around doing. This was from the shoot that wasn't... We ventured out to Cuneo Museum and Christmas Wonderland for an amazing photo opp... and amazing it was... however, they did not allow photography inside. NOT posted anywhere on their website, so something we unfortunate out of towners had to find out once we arrived. So then we went on an angry shooting rampage elsewhere... and you can tell by the crappy quality of the photos. I had some shots I was kind of proud of, but since I'm still vaguely new to the camera, I had some issues. Eh, I'll work 'em out. But here they are... there's more to come when I get to them.

Family Affair : A sad attempt to use the timer on my camera - to create a family portrait for my father of just "us girls" for a birthday gift. I got sidetracked by shiny things (horses, burglar alarms, and a lonesome glove) on the way, so had to stop for those shots. It's always MUCH easier to stay situated BEHIND the camera, if you ask me... lol!

Crummy Night HDR : Please disregard my crappy attempts at night HDR - I had real issues as one might see. That's what I get for angry shooting. I'd had a realllllly bad night of shooting the night before this, and thought I'd redeem myself. Not so much apparently. But - here they are - in all their lackluster glory. Only because I'll be deleting them shortly from my computer and am merely saving them somewhere to prove that I really sucked "this week in photography, 2009"...

A Day of Firsts : Today our first snow hit here in Chicago (well, first sizable snow). So I wanted to take advantage of a possible photo opp. I really just stayed by the house and took the dog for a walk. I actually wanted to take advantage of just taking some practice shots for another "first". I wanted to try processing a single shot HDR photo just using one raw file. Not only that "first", but I've never shot snow before - so I had a lot of learning to do. I wanted to capture the big fat flakes that were falling, and I seemed to fall short. I really posted these so I could get some feedback from you knowledgeable folks out there on any of these points. 1) Snow Shooting and 2) Single Shot HDR. I think I did ok, but it's definitely a first attempt at best. The raw files are a little tricky, I don't typically work with them - and I notice it's not quite clear - it's a bit blurry almost. Any help would be much appreciated! THANKS TO ALL OF YOU!!!

Trudging Through Demise : Our trip across two states in a matter of hours! LOL! We started in Evanston at the lighthouse up there. Made our way back down through Bensenville - the abandoned TOWN that everyone basically has been kicked out of (including stores and other industry) - very eerie place. Then out into Indiana to an abandoned factory. Good times!! Then off to work I had to go.

Take It For What You Will : ... but these are some of the very first photographs I took when I discovered that I loved shooting (we're talking years ago now, so please be kind). I wanted to put it up to show that in the three or four years it's been since I first picked up a camera, I've come pretty far. For better or worse... I've discovered that my eye sees pretty much the same thing that picked my interest then is the same thing I see now. Just some technique has come from there since then. Mostly thanks to my dear friend Rob (Macabre Art) who has equipped me with the best of cameras and knowledge. I couldn't ask for more. Not looking for comments, just a show and tell really. Putting my naked crap out there for the world to see. I'm still learning, as I hope are all of you! There's always more!

She Works Hard For The Bubble : So - to explain this a bit - I just literally took my dog for a walk and discovered a "series" of shots that revealed themselves to me. So I actually decided to use the same post processing on each of them to have the shots coincide. It was a dreary, sucky day out - and I really wanted that to come across in the images.

Sick Day Shoot : My shoot with The Macabre Art (my bud Rob) Saturday. I had 103 temperature at points throughout the day... but I think the fresh air did me some good! I wasn't on my game, but went with the flow. I don't even really remember being at the school! HA HA
